Philoptochos

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has chosen me to preach the gospel to the poor.” Luke 4:18

The literal translation of the Greek word Philoptochos is “friend of the poor.” The mission statement of the National Philoptochos Society is “to promote charitable, benevolent and philanthropic outreach to preserve the sanctity of life and family and to perpetuate and promote our Orthodox faith and traditions.” The NOC chapter here in Novato works diligently to continue this sacred work. Everyone is invited to become an Associate Member of Philoptochos by simply contacting our President, Cathy Selmi (cathyselmi@gmail.com).
